Christmas Ornament

This is my Christmas ornament this year, inspired by our recent trip to Ireland.

This is chasing and repoussé work on copper, kind of like using a hammer and chisel.  As you can probably see, this is slightly 3D, a kind of low relief.

Steel and Glass Shelving

I built this shelving unit to display my art.  This will enable me to take some pieces out of storage and display them.

Updated Website

I updated my website to make it more mobile friendly.   I used “responsive design” to design pages that would display pretty well on an iphone or an ipad or a big computer screen.  Sometimes websites have totally different pages for mobile use, but that is a lot of extra work, when a simple format can work for any screen, big or small.  I ended up hand coding in html, a lot of work, but it keeps the code simple and short.

Please take a look and give me your comments.  I am especially interested in anything that does not work well, or looks strange, on your device.  Thanks.

Headboard project - chasing and repousse

I am getting ready to start a substantial project, a headboard showing the mountain ranges around Boulder.  I am starting by taking the iconic Flatirons, and making a small model of them, as a kind of trial.

I have also made two new tools for chasing and repousse.

Shipped a Mobius to Brazil

I shipped one of my Mobius sculptures to Brazil, a first for me.   To save on shipping charges, we used a wooden base instead of the usual heavy stone bases.
